GMDC mines lignite, base metals and industrial minerals such as bauxite and fluorspar, and is among India’s leading lignite producers and sellers. It also owns the 250 MW lignite-based Akrimota Thermal Power Station in Kutch.
The state-owned company was founded in 1963 and is based in Ahmedabad.
